The Remington 870 Sidesaddle 12 GA (6) shell holder is made by TacStar and was previously installed on a top-folding stock shotgun. This is why the mounting plate is cut at a steep angle. It still mounts to the shotgun and retains the shot shells as normal. If you have a top-folding Police stock on your Remington 870 then this Sidesaddle shell holder will work with it.
